Echibeckia™ Summerina® series, a true cross of 2 genera—Echinacea and Rudbeckia
Echibeckia™ Summerina® Sunreef™ looks like a rudbeckia with large flower has the vigor of an echinacea
Long- and heavy-blooming
Sunreef flowers from early summer through late fall
Large beefy, 6-inch or larger, bicolor daisylike flowers with dark orange rays and a rust-red eye and cone
Each flower lasts an extraordinarily long time—up to 10 weeks!
Flowers on single sturdy stems, the blooms make bold and beautiful, long-lasting cut flowers
Echibeckia Sunreef has an upright, mounded habit and a rapid growth rate. It is an excellent specimen or container plant but is shown to best effect when massed in mixed beds, borders, and foundation plantings.
Easy to grow and low maintenance, Sunreef grows best in a sunny location with organically rich, moist, well-draining soil but adapts to a wide range of soils. Sunreef is also disease resistant.
A hybrid (R. hirta x Echinacea purpurea) with looks and fast growth of rudbeckia and the vigor and disease tolerance of echinacea. It is a very compact plant with huge long-lasting blooms. Water this plant weekly and more in extreme heat. It works well planted in containers or massed in borders, along walkways or rock gardens and is an excellent choice for sunny low-water use gardens
